2007 Annual Report
Peking University Education Foundation (USA) is proud to report that there have been large increases in the total sum of donations granted to the Foundation in 2007. The number of funding projects also continues to grow steadily.
By December 31, PKUEF(USA) acquired a total of $3,268,800 in donations from 214 gifts, with a growth of 84.9% in donation total and a growth of 11.5% in donor number from 2006.
PKUEF(USA) set up 10 new projects in 2007, with a growth of 17.5% from 2006.
In 2007, major gifts increased substantially. Individual donations from alumni also increased prominently and class funds continue to develop. Among those individual donations reaching $1,000, alumni contributed 35 donations, 70% of the total numbers.
In 2007, the Wallace H. Coulter Foundation set up the first Matching Fund at PKUEF(USA). The fund matches all donations to the College of Engineering at a matching ratio of 1:1 and provides a total of $2,500,000.
In 2007, PKUEF(USA) continued to support important cultural exchange events between China and the US as well as between Peking University and the US. In April, PKUEF(USA) supported the debut of the Lyrics of Overseas Chinese Chorus at Peking University. In October, PKUEF(USA) sponsored the Third PKUAA-USA Conference in Los Angeles. Also in October, the Weiming Forum and Charity Evening were staged in both Los Angeles and San Francisco.
