The 2021 Annual Board Meeting of Peking University Education Foundation (USA) Held Via Video Conference

On the evening of December 8, 2021, the 2021 Annual Board Meeting of Peking University Education Foundation (USA) (PKUEF (USA)) was held via video conference with 9 board members participating. Zhihong Xu, chair of the board, led the meeting.

The board directors and members of board committees of PKUEF (USA) were re-elected during the meeting. The board of directors reviewed and approved the 2021 Work Report of PKUEF (USA) presented by Lynn Zhao, president of the foundation, and the 2021 Financial Report of PKUEF (USA) presented by Jessica Tang, treasurer of the foundation.

J. P. Morgan, outsourced chief investment officer of the foundation, presented a report on the foundation’s investment performance for the year of 2021. Directors exchanged their views and thoughts on investment related matters.

In recent years, PKUEF(USA) has made steady progress in fundraising, project management, investment and internal governance, especially in terms of standardization and institutionalization. At the meeting, the board of directors reviewed and approved PKUEF (USA) management policies presented by Mandy Lai, secretary of the foundation, reviewed the project reports and performance of 2020 and the main categories of PKUEF (USA) programs presented by Eleana Hai, program assistant of PKUEF (USA). Besides, the board of directors reviewed and approved the fundraising programs of Peking University of 2022 presented by Yuning Li, board director of PKUEF (USA) and secretary-general of Peking University Education Foundation.

At the meeting, the board of directors fully affirmed the work that the foundation has carried out over the past year, reflected on the achievements and progress, and discussed the challenges and opportunities facing the foundation in the future. It is expected that with a joint effort and continual support from alumni and friends, PKUEF(USA) will continue to advance the mission of promoting the development of Peking University and the people-to-people exchanges between the United States and China and make a positive contribution to the community.
